Approved For Rele ee 2004/09/23: CIA-RDP80R01720R000900( #Op5i g i- elf --_------ .rr THE DIRECTOR OF CENTRAL INTELLIGENCE WASHINGTON, D. C. 20505 13 May 1974 Rear Admiral E. F. Rectanus, USN Director of Naval Intelligence I have been remiss in not writing before now to thank you and your colleagues for the time you so kindly devoted to my education on 2 May. My visit to the Office of Naval Intelligence and. the Naval Intelligence Command was, for me, informative, useful and thoroughly enjoyable. The briefings were first class, compressing a great deal of information into a minimum span of time. My only regret was that a very tight schedule made it impossible for me to receive all of the briefings that had been so thoughtfully prepared or to engage your colleagues in additional substantive dialogue. Would you please convey my sincere thanks to all of your officers and associates for the work they put in on my behalf. I very much appreciated your hospitality and learned a great deal that should be beneficial to us both in the future. I look forward to following up in more detail some of the points we touched on. Again, thank you for a brilliantly organized program. With best regards, Sincerely yours, George A. Carver, Jr. Deputy for National Intelligence Officers O/D/DCI/NIO:GACarver/kes Distribution: ig - Addressee 7D/NIO Chrono 1 - NIO/RI Approved For Release 2004/09/23 : CIA-RDP80RO172OR000900080051-5
