Mr. Richard M. Helms
Director of Central Intelligence
Central Intelligence Agency
Washington, D. C. 20505.
Dear Mr. Helms:
JUL,231970
Our Forty-eighth Class of the Armed Forces Staff College
will begin its studies of joint and combined planning and
operations on 17 August, and we are hoping that you will
be able to join us to give our students your views on the
Agency. Our tentative date is Monday, 9 November, at
1000 (EST); and we do hope you can make it. However,
we understand the many demands upon your time and
realize that the possibility of your coming is rather slim.
If your schedule simply can't accommodate us, we would
be happy to welcome General Cushman (who has given us
such fine presentations in the past) or any other repre-
sentative you wish to designate.
We have planned our usual procedure -- a 45-minute
lecture, a 15-minute break, and a 45-minute question
period (which can be adjusted to meet your schedule).
We would also be pleased if you (or your representative)
could join us for a luncheon with some faculty members
