P-4 MOTOR TORPEDO BOATS (PT),
NORTH KOREA
1. The first identification of
P-4 PT boats in North Korea was made
25X1 D on photography of
(Figure 1). A total of seven
these Soviet-designed boats were
observed at three different loca-
tions. Two were at Nampo, three
were at Kwangyang-ni (on ways), and
two were at Sagon-ni (on ways).
2. Recently, a decrease in the
number of P-li PT has been noted at
Ling-shan-wei Motor Torpedo Boat
25X1A Base in China which may
indicate that the boats in North
Korea were transferred from that
installation.
3. The appearance of P-4 PT
and Chinese-type artillery tractors
at Kwangyang-ni tends to support
recent speculation that a military
aid agreement may have been effected
between Communist China and North
Korea in addition to a new economic
aid agreement.
