1. This memorandum is in response to a request for contact prints
or viewgraphs of the Lhasa river as it runs through the Lhasa urban
.area and of the Chushul ferry point. It also replies to a request for
a photographic interpretation statement on any signs of new bridge con-
struction in either area.and a.description of location, progress in
construction, and type of equipment available.
2. The accompanying contact prints
show the Lhasa river (Kyi Chu, Gya Chu) from approximately

35 miles southwest of Lhasa to approximately 30 miles northeast of
Lhasa. An index of these prints is.enclosed.
