SUBJECT: Possible Contact with the Atomic Energy Commission

1. a contract consultant to PSS,
informed me today t at one of his recent activities involves
consultative service as a member of the Personnel Assurance
Program Committee for the U. S. Atomic Energy Commission.
As explained by this is a group chosen from
various fields to give advice and recommendations to the
ABC relative to the security and safety of their operations
from the standpoint of the stability and dependability of
their people in sensitive positions. This is the counter-
part of what the military services refer to as the "human
reliability" area.

STATINTL the Agency exper ence in selecting people for sensitiverom
positions and would like to arrange some interchange with
appropriate Agency officials. I suggested that his group
make an official request to the DCI for the type of infor-
mation sought. If approved, I would envision discussions
on general methodology and approach to selection with
representatives of the Offices of Personnel, Security, and
Medical Services.
