In this report, an attempt has been made to locate both the Functional Areas and the Organizational Units within this installation. The Functional Areas are described in Section I, and delineated in white on the graphics while the Organizational Units are discussed in Section II and outlined in red on the graphics. R. Probable small arms/sub caliber range (see figure 3) P.I. REMARKS The tank/assault gun storage and maintenance area is of particular interest because of the similarity to other-Chinese Communist Army tank units (see Military Facilities Ssu-Ping, China, CIA/PIR-67175) and that tanks are apparently coming into the area from the field. This assumption is based on the following facts: (1) an unidentified tank is emerging from the maintenance building and moving into the vehicle shed area; (2) two tanks are on the vehicle maintenance racks which would be more likely when returning from the field; (3) the fact that the tanks on the road are not moving; (4) the probable T-34 tanks with turrets in traverse position are headed toward the installation. Approved For Release 210I5CRU 25X 25X 25X 25X Appro~ ed For Release 2Q EC - CIA IMAGERY ANALYSIS CIA/PIR-67190 SECTION II After making the functional break-down of this installation it was possible to determine some of the organizational units. The probable headquarters and rear support elements area was identified mainly by the large, multistory administration buildings. The large number of administration buildings, barracks and other support buildings.in this area are probably utilized by some of the various rear support elements. The large motor pool in the area is probably for the transportation battalion. The probable tank/assault gun regiment was easily identified due to its isolation, proximty to the tracked vehicle driver training area, tank sub caliber range and the tanks shown on figure 5. Three probable infantry regiments were located primarily by the T- shaped probable auditorium located in each, the similarities in administration and barracks counts, the small motor pools and the :relative isolation of two of the areas. The third probable infantry regiment, located near area "Ac", probably uses barracks from that area for billeting. The probable artillery regiment, located approximately 1.5 nm north- east of the headquarters area, was identified by the unidentified artillery pieces in the vehicle/equipment storage area. Four unidentified probable organization units are delineated because of their separation however no function could be determined for them.
