DESCRIPTION
This river port is subject to continuous
silting and mud flats are prevalent; seriously
limiting alongside depths. This-results in long
approaches to pontoons and wharves. Prima-
rily a lighter port, pontoons and small off-
shore wharves are predominant in most of the
port area. There is almost no rail service
and little cranage at dock side. An excellent
road net provides access to the urban area
with rail- and water-borne traffic- serving
the hinterland.
The ort facilities reflect little change in
. theiiperiod. 25X1 D
