STJBJECT : Monthly Report on Overhead Imagery Reconnaissance
1. Attached is the December 1975 report on overhead imagery recon-
naissance. This will be the final monthly report published by ICRS,
since a recently completed study indicates that this report is of very
marginal value to the intelligence community.

STATUS OF INTELLIGENCE SEARCH/SURVEILLANCE
1. The current status of coverage against the USIB standing periodic
intelligence search/surveillance requirements is given in the following
four tables, reported in terms of clear, usable panoramic photography
acquired on the USSR, Eastern Europe, China, Mongolia, North Korea, North
Vietnam, and the Middle East. Coverage is expressed in millions of square
nautical miles and as a percentage of the total areas designated for

1. During the four-month period ending 31 December 1975 overhead

reconnaissance coverage of Cuba was provided by 25X1A
3. Aircraft. There were eight (SR-71) missions flown 25X1A
over Cuba during December 1975. Compete coverage was acquired on
25 COMIREX targets with NIIRS 3 or better.
4. The two (SR-71) missions, flown in September
through December, achieved t e only coverage on approximately 14,551
square nautical miles (38.9 percent) of the country thereby failin to

the four-month period ending 31 December 1975. Map 3 depicts this target
distribution.

North and South Vietnam.
