The series is being coordinated, published and disseminated by NPIC. The photographic analysis is being performed by the NPIC Photographic Analysis Group, the CIA Photographic Intelligence Division (NPIC), and the Production Center IPlc (DIA). The photographic analysis for this particular re- port was performed by the CIA Photographic Intelligence Division. In the interest of uniformity, the titles and letter designators for the facilities observed at these installations are identical with those appearing in the project requirement. When a specific facility is not observed both its title and letter designator are omitted in the report. Titles and letter designators for the various facilities are as follows: (A) railroad service, (B) road service, (C) landing strips, (D) administrative and troop housing areas, (E) storage areas, (F) am- munition storage areas, (G) POL storage areas, (H) other buildings and facilities, (J) equipment storage /maintenance areas, (K) athletic fields, (L) small arms firing ranges, (M) driver training areas, (N) tank/ assault gun firing ranges, (P) flat trajectory firingranges, (Q) artillery emplacem?nts (batteries), (R) infantry or combined arms field train- ing areas or courses, (S) special training facilities, (T) unidentified facilities or tracking activity. 25X1 TOP SECRET TOP SECRET 25X1 An Ammunition Storage Depot is located on the southwest edge of Byrka, 215 kilometers (km) southeast of Chita, 7 km west of the Mirnaya military complex, 15 km west of the Bezrechnava military complex, and 21 km southeast of the Yasnava military complex (Figure 1). The installation is served by a spur from the Chita- Otpor line of the Trans-Siberian railroad and a probable hard surface, all-weather road. The installation (Figures 2 and 3) encom- passes approximately 800 acres and contains a total of 63 buildings, including 45 storage build- ings, four administrative barracks buildings, and 14 general support buildings. A support area divides the storage area into two main groups. Each grouping is secured and has a wide firebreak. An abandoned SA-2 site (AL- 26) is located immediately east of the southern storage area. This installation is covered dicates no apparent change in the installation port buildings. There is road access to both Railroad Service The installation is served by a single spur rail line which runs through the installation, and provides access to all buildings. Road Service The installation is served by a probable hard surface, all-weather road which provides direct connection to two division-sized military complexes, one to the east and another to the northwest. Aircraft Landing Strip The nearest landing strip is at the Khada Bulak Station North Airfield, 16 km to the east. Administrative and Troop Housing Area Area D has one administrative building, three barracks, and two storage and five sup- storage areas. There has change in this facility Ammunition Storage Areas Area F1 has ten 185- by 60-foot, non- revetted, well dispersed storage buildings, eight 120- by 60-foot storage buildings, and four sup- port buildings. Area F2 has sixteen 90- by 65-foot and nine 185- by 60-foot storage buildings and is located in a dry steam bed. The area also contains three support buildings.
