MEMORANDUM FOR THE RECORD
SUBJECT: Presidential Library Project
Discussion with Mr. Walker of National Archives
1. In an effort to clarify the "Cut off date" I contacted
Mr. Walker at National Archives today. He explained that they had
originally asked for material with dates between November 1963 and
June 1967. He said this was an effort to assist the Agencies.
Actually any "cut bff" date should be whatever is most convenient
.for the filing systems of the Agency concerned. National Archives
had suggested June 1967 because they felt that would be the best
point from which to resume later on.
2. He said his office was assuming we would not have any
material or photos that would be well suited as exhibits in the
library. I said I would check but I felt his assumption was
probably correct.
3. He said he would send me copies of the various announce-
ments used by the Treasury Department and other Agencies to publicize
the Library Project and to instruct offices in procedures for sub-
mitting material for transfer to the libr
