1. The following information is available on an experimental small armor-piercing
eaeapon which is being tested at the Military Technical Institute (1/TU - Vojen-
sk r Technics Ustav) at Podmok]yr:
a. Technical details
1) Barrel: The and-.of the barrel is formed by a jet (see drawing W.
2) Projectile: Speed - 90 to 70 meters per second (see drawing #2).
3) Other details:
a) Pressure in the barrel is 330 atmospheres.
b) The stabilization rings are twisted around on insertion of the
projectile into the barrel.
c) The grid usually lasts for about 15 shots, after which it disin-
tegrates (thegr?:iting breaks lose at the *,aelding points).
d) The barrel has no recoil mechanism.
b. This weapon is now being tested on a testing range. Blank cartridges a-A
used.
c. Ing. Drbal, formerly of the Skoda '.Yorks, Pilsen, is head of the depar eniTij
concerned. with the development of this weapon.
