Distribution of CIA Memorandum,
"Status of Soviet ICBM Launcher
Dismantling Program"
1. The memorandum which we issued yesterday on
Soviet progress in dismantling ICBM launchers was distributed
outside CIA only to you, the Secretary of State, the Secretary
of Defense, the Directors of DIA and INR, the US Commissioner
of the SCC, and to the Deputy Director for Intelligence /DIA.
2. The substance of the memorandum was published in
today's issue of the PDB. It will not run in any other publications
4. If you think it important enough, the mission could be
terminated on or about 15 March. The exploitation of the photography
could be completed within five to six days thereafter.
