During the summer of 1952, a new zastava was constructed approximately one kilometer south of the point where the roads from Samuilovo (N ~.1-22, E-23-05) and Kolarevo (N L~1-22, E 23-06) meet on their way to the border, and about 100 meters east of the single ro ad. It is located in a small level field and is a 1-story building, the sides of which are 35 and 15 meters~in length. The build- ing is painted white, its entrance is on the western side, and the roof is of black Marseille tile. The zastava is connected by telephone to the village of Samuilovo. It is occupied by approximately 60 troops under the command of a lieutenant, Personnel included two junior lieutenants, three senior ser eants, six unior sergeants, and the remainder, 25X1 25X1 enlisted men: 25X1 Vulcan (lnu) Nikovski fnu) 2. The zastava has five or six shepherd do s. The do kee er watches over and trains them for duty on the border. this zastava has two ambush posts {sekretni at a place known as "Portata" N-l~1-19, E~23-05) near the point where the .road leads to the border. The ambushes are located near two springs. One ambush post is approximately 500 meters and the other 50 meters fran the border line. Both of them are about 900 meters apart. Approxim ately five men are assigned to these posts and reliefs take place at 10 p.m., ~. a?m. and, 12 a.m. these five men divide up into two grougs to occupy the two ambush posts. The detail approaches the ambush along the road as it leads directly to the posts. The zastava is sent out and a mobile detail-begins along the road by the zastava. Tn the forest9 they turn southeast and arrive somewhere near the source of the Kolarevo river, west of Galabak Peek. A detail is made.up of two persons and is changed at the hours. indicated above for the ambush reliefs. One of the mien is armed with a rifle (karabin M 1938) and the other with an automatic. From 1918 to 1952 the zastava was located in a 1-story 30 x 10 meter building constructed of unplastered brick. The roof is of black Marseille tile, and the zastava is located approximately 30 meters west of the ~unetion of the Samuilovo and Kolarevo roads. ~,t~present the buildin#~ is not being used since the zastava moved its quarters to the new building.
