This report is concerned with the Huang=pei Military Complex which
is located in Hupeh Province (Wuhan Military Region . This large military
complex is located approximately 2 nm west of Huang-pei and encompasses an
area of approximately 2 square miles.
The primary purpose of this report is to confirm or negate the presence
of an anti-tank division within this area. Detailed analysis of the complex
and identification of any training facilities associated with airborne or
artillery units are also included.
The following designations are utilized in this report to identify
the individual installations.

is connected by a rail s ur with the main line to Wu Han. No new
construction is observed and there

Comparative photography has revealed that the probable training platforms
which are located throughout the Huan - ei Militar Com 1ex have not
changes in numbers or location These
platforms are arranged in groups o r~lve wi-E~1ong pla orm~building
located in line with or across from them. These probable training 2 5X1
platforms could possibly be associated with airborne training. They
could also be, however, some device for training ground forces.
As a supplement to this report two examples have been included which.
show the same type of probable training platform being utilized in other
military installations (see Figures 13 and 14~. A map is included which
indicates the general geographic proximity of these installations to one
another (see Figure 12~.
Comparative coverage of the Huang-pei Military Complex has not revealed
artillery or pieces of equipment in any of the open areas within the
various installations. The presence of an anti-tank division or any
other type of artillery unit cannot be verified from available photographic
coverage.
