SEARCH RADARS WITH NEW CONFIGURATIONS
SHEN-YANG (MUKDEN), CHINA
'25X1D Two search radars with new configuration have been identified
from photography of-a site located--6.2 autical miles
(nm) west-southwest of Shen-yang (Mukden), CY>ina,rand 2. 3 nm
south-southwest of Mukden Wes Airfield. Geographic co%rdinates
for the_ site arse 41-47N 123-17F.
One new radar is mounted on an SCR-270-type trailer with out-
riggers and consists ofa vertical mast approximat ly 40 feet high, a
horizontal boom 50 feel long ttached to the mast atla point 10 feet
above.. ground level,. and a refIector casting a triangular- shaped
shadow.
The other nTew radar is mounted on a possible t ruck van. It
consists of a 40-foot-high mast, a 40-foot-long boor attached to the
mast at a point 25 feet above ground level, and a probable diamond/
elliptical-shaped reflector measuring 40 feet In length and 15 feet in
height. The. sai7lx is revolving. No outriggers are visible on the van.
A third radar, probably a Yagi array,- is located in a secured
-area, 1, 400 feet southwest of the two new radars. This third radar
is revolving, but rJo.details of its design are discernible duet to poor
shadow detail.
