Approved For Release 2006/10/18 00 P81 B00961 R000100130034-1 Copy S of RANDUM FOR: Deputy Director (Research) Agency-Wide-Ali-Source Operations Room tUEl .ENCi: Action Memorandum A-165, 18 January 1963 I. I do not think that a situation room such as the one proposed in Use reference would he satisfactory. To present all of CIA's operations , aphically or otherwise would require a staff of considerable size. This staff would in turn put a burden on the operations people in the divisions of CIA concerned to keep them knowledgeable of all details of each operation including up to the minute changes as they occur. 2. At the present time details of the operations carried out in OSA/DDR are forwarded through DDI to the DCI's office as they occur. I person lly have had complaints from the DCI'a staff that such information from OS A has been lacking or untimely in its delivery. I maintain that accurate and timely information, particularly on OSA/DDa operations, can best be had by contacting the operating staff actually carrying out the operations. I am not aware of this ever having; been a problem in the past. JACK C.
