It is located aalroximately 11 miles N of the station in Leninabaa and directly N of an airfield. The acco wing sketch was esle from an a'rial photograph and will provide orientetion and location of major items of interest. An attempt was made to delieeate all possible fenced areas. Oue to the quality and scale of the aveileble photos it was difficult to nake positive identification of field fence z. In consequence, whore there was any possibility of a field fence existine it was so shun on the eketch. It is quite ooseible that where a field fence is shown there is the aossa- btlity that the fence is aetealle a drainage ditch or combination Ance and drainage ditch. Ail. interior field fences, outside of the desired area, were not generally ehewn. Fences boundine industrial areae. wer- definitely identified due to their height and solid construction. The area is cultivated level ground 'which Is probably quite soft as ildicated by the instellation of subsurface drainage in aost of the area. The bounding roads aleear to be earth surface and paralleled by either fences, ditches or both. These roads junctioe 5.T. of the area with a road leadine to 7;abarkend. At this point there are two narrow bridges. From tots junction the road leads directly to Leninabad along the g edge of the AfF. About 1200 feet south ef the junction there is, what appears to be. about 1000 feet of road which is in extrenely poor condition, if not washed out. About 650 feet X of the junction and on the road to Sabarkend an alternate road goes eastward about moo feet and then turns south to" the town. The disadvantage of this route is that it enters an industrIal section of the town and requires using a rather complicated route to roach the R.R. station. The airfield an-ears to be fenced la with main entrance being located in the town and several additional entrances to the shop area, west of tom. There is also an entrance gate onto the road bounline the area on the south at its junction with the road bounding the east side and 150 feet west of the janction with the road to Sabarkend. This does not appear to be esed exiaaesively. The major aerial obstecle in the area is a smokestack located aaaroxinately 3500 feet west of the area. There are only a, few trees in the area of any size and which have been :lotted on the aeconaanying sketch. The area is roughly trtIngular in shape being bounded or the: north- land east by a stream and on the west by a bluff, approacinately 25 fet In height, which 'bordere on. a breiled streae. The height of the bluff is strictly an acryroottriation since no stereo coverage was available. The terrain oe the east, south and west is trregeler, being cut by an, exceedtegly- cemplex drainage pattlrn.
