1. (U/AIUO) Action Requested: None; for information
2. (C) Background: Reference is made to the attached
requests from tzT the House Select Committee on Assassinations
(HSCA) dated 9 March (OLC 78-1058/1) and 13 March 1978 (OLC
78-1069/1; OLC 78-107011). Because items numbered 2 - 4 on.
the 9 March request appear to be within the purview of the
Directorate of Operations, the Office of Security has
addressed only #1 (list of documents in Agency possession
concerning Lee Harvey Oswald prior to the opening of his 201
file). The date of the opening of Oswald's 201 has no
relevance for this Office since a 201 file is unique to the
Directorate of Operations only. Therefore, a list of docu-
ments in the possession of the Office of Security regarding
Oswald prior to the assassination of President John F.
Kennedy has been drawn up. That list is attached herewith.
