FBIS Collection Guidance No. 82-10 on Energy Economics
1. This memorandum forwards to you updated collection guidance on
energy economics, designated as FBIS Collection Guidance No. 82-10 for
internal control purposes. This also rescinds FBIS Collection Guidance
No. 81-01 dated 2 January 1981 on the same subject. In revalidating and
updating this guidance, the Chief of the Energy Issues Branch of the
Strategic Resources Division, Office of Global Issues, advised that his
division has observed an "outstanding response" by FBIS to this guidance
and hopes the "flow of timely and relevant energy articles will continue."
The subjects listed under Topics of Current Interest in the attached
guidance reflect the division's research program for the coming year.
2. Since FBIS' current resources will not permit it to respond
fully to all of the attached topics of interest as requirements and
since the consumer is satisfied with the current level of collection,
FBIS will continue to accept these topics as collection guidance rather
than a collection requirement. The attached list is unclassified and
can be issued to monitors and JPRS contractors; on1Y the reference to
the originator of the guidance is classified.
