1. All the bunkers in the Stribro (N 49-45, E 13-00) area were constructed bfore
the Second World War. From 1938 until sometime after 1948 the bunkers wee
not in use nor were they maintained0 two companies of the
5th Technical Battalion (TP) having about 300 men, was brought to the area in
January 1953 with the task of camouflaging the bunkers. The bunkPrs by then
were already renovated and in combat readiness.
2. The work on camouflage was directed by a group of ,abtout 20 engineers under the
command of 1st Lt. Brom (fnu), who was reporte4y/eUr killed ,by an eXplosion.
In the-course of this work an underground tunnel was built to each bunker; the
tunnel was covered with wooden logs and a layer of earth; then each bunker was
neatly covered with earth and the earth was covered by plants in such a way as
not to differ from its surroundings. Only side walls containing embrasures 25X1
were left uncovered, but these were concealed by shrubbery
