MEMORANDUM FOR: THE RECORD
SUBJECT: DCI Appearance on CBS Morning News.
1. The DCI will appear on the CBS Morning News on
Tuesday, 30 August. The DCI has been requested to be at
the CBS studio, 2020 t1 Street, N.W., no later than 0725.
He will go on the air at approximately 0740 for a 10 minute
interview.
2. Martin Clancy, Washington producer of the CBS
Morning News, says the interview will be concerned with an
update on the Intelligence Community reorganization and
our new openness policy vis-a-vis the need for producing
classified information. It is now expected that the .
interviewers will be Bruce Morton and-either Marvin Kalb
or Bob Shakne.
3. Clancy's assistant, with whom we are working to
provide background information-and research assistance,
is Ms. Libby Lazarus.
4. We will provide additional information about the
program at a later date.
