This appraisal, approved by the Joint Chiefs of Staff, suppL..ments the detailed information provided to the Preparedness Subcomm&ctee by the Director, DIA, and the Chiefs of Arnzy, Navy, and Air Force Intelligence. The evaluations and estimates of the Joint Chiefs of Staff on the current military situation in Cuba have a direct re l on- ship to existing US military contingency plans.
