MEMORANDUM FOR: Mr. John M. Maury,
CIA Legislative Counsel
SUBJECT Briefing a Staff Member of the
Senate Foreign Relations Committee
1. Mr. Lowenstein of the Senate Foreign Re-
lations Staff has expressed interest in talking to
me concerning the insurgency in Cambodia. He said
that he intends to ask you to set up an appointment.
2. I informed Mr. Lowenstein of my willingness
to cooperate, and that I had written extensively on
the subject of the KC rebels.
3. I also told him of the peculiar status of
my employment at the Agency -- that is, that on
19 March 1973, I was informed that I was "excess," and
that I would receive a written notification in "a
couple of days." No such notification has arrived,
however, and I do not know where I stand. The CIA
Chief of Personnel, Mr. Fisher, is aware of the problem
if you need filling in.
4. I would appreciate it if you would inform
me when Mr. Lowenstein contacts you, and also what you
intend to do. Thank you in advance for your kind con-
sideration in this matter.
