SUBJECT: National Intelligence Survey (NIS)
Production Forecast for Fiscal Years 1967, 1968
USIB -M-369, 4 February 1965, item 7. c.
1. In accordance with reference the NIS Committee forwards
to USIB the attached NIS Production Forecast which the Committee
has developed for fiscal years 1967 and 1968.
2. The Forecast extends for the two fiscal years the pattern
of production priorities by topics and foreign areas which USIB
approved last year.
3. The attachment groups by major world regions the
countries on which NIS production is forecast. Africa and Latin
America continue to receive the largest production emphasis
accounting for some 23% and 22% respectively of total NIS coverage
for the period.
4. The General Survey again provides nearly 60% of the
total coverage forecast for the two years, reflecting the emphasis
on this volume as the primary unit of NIS coverage.
