At 11:45 on 5 December a broadcast in Slovak was heard Ion' the
shortwave charnel 7740 kilocycles which identified itself as coming
from "The Voice of the Slovak Republic-the transmitter of theSlovak
Liberation Coumzittee". Broadcasts are said to be taking place "at
12:45 on Tuesdays and Fridays in the forty metier band". Thel trans-
mission included the text of a talk by, Professor Ferdinand Durcensky, ~t Tx
"originally broadcast over the Austrian station Innsbruck". The `'
program opened and closed with the'Pla

national anthem under the Hlinka regime, and i eluded a slogsnl"by
fighting against Communism we are fighting for~the restoration of LIID!- I x
the Slovak Republic". No evidence of Jamming was noticed throughout r' o
the broadcast rhich lasted fifteenminutes,
It will be recalled that over,a year ago a transmitter with .^
the same title was heard with two 'regular daily broadcasts in Slovak
on shortwaves.
According to available information, the Austrian Transmitter
Group West in the French Zone presents; broadcasts in Slovak on the
Innsbruck shortwave station at 17:30 on weekdays which are believed
to be addressed to people in DP camps. Similar broadcasts are given
in Czech, German, Hungarian, Rumanian and Serb/Croat.
