Specific- Briefing of Senator Russell

the Senators interest in the matter. He shook his head and said that
he was not interested in pursuing the question any further and that he
had been vaguely curious about what had finally happened in this field.
If any consideration is ever given to briefing representatives of
Congress on this matter, Senator Russell would clearly be a very inter-
ested listener.

During the course of my briefing of Senator Russell, the substance
of which has been reported through normal channels, Senator Russell
made some reference to special air activity on the part of KUBARK. This
came up apropos of some remark which the Senator made about airmen who
had come down inside Russia. I thought that he was referring to the
C-118 but he indicated that he knew about that. He then said something
about some very fancy, new, high-flying planes that he had been told
something about two or three years ago In vi f
