C. 3 January 1952 Dear Larry: The Office of Training is officially one year old today, and I cannot let our first. "anniversary" go by without expressing a word of appreciation for the fine support you have given m` staff and me during the first troubled days of our infancy. It is the most unusual babe who learns to run before he learns to walk, and we are humbly aware that we're a long way from being a four minute mile outfit. We've had our expected prat falls and some unexpected ones; we've had our share of "reorganization" growing pains; our immature mental processes have not always been able to copi~-,sagely with our "Mission and Function"; but by hit and miss and by God, we've somehow muddled through a year we're proud of. At least we're encouraged to face our second year in the belief we'll have accomplished something concrete by January 19531 Thanks for being in our corner.
