1. Subject has been summoned to appear in the United
States District Court for the District of Columbia to serve as
25X1A9A
a juror o
2. It is of the utmost importance that Subject's services
should not be denied this Division during the coming six months and
that she, therefore, be excused from jury duty during this period. 25X1A8A
Subject is serving as Acting Chief of the FI Section of the D
Branch which has recently been seriously handicapped by lack of trained
FI officers. Subject is carrying not only the heaviest FI case load
but is also responsible for the supervision of inexperienced personnel.
She has foregone her vacation and does not anticipate absence from
the office until the early winter. In addition, the Chief of the 025X1 A8A
Branch is to be replaced in September and it will be important that
Subject, the only person with continuity of service within the Branch,
be available for briefing the new Chief.
3. Because Subject's absence from the office will cause
serious interference with operations in the Division and because 025X1 A8A
is considered a most critical area, we request that Subject be excused
from jury duty at this time.
