I extend a cordial invitation to you as a member of
the Presidents Science Advisory Committee, to attend the
'Tenth Annual Air Force Science and Engineering Symposium.
The Office of Aerospace Research (OAR) is the host sponsor
this year in cooperation with the Air Force Systems Command
(AFSC). The Symposium will be held at the United States
Air Force Academy on the 8th, 9th and 10th of October 1963.
In addition to the regular program this year, we of OAR are
dedicating our newest research laboratory. This laboratory
is being named for the late Colonel Frank J. Seiler, one of
the Air Force=s most outstanding research and development
officers. The dedication will take place as a part of the
annual awards banquet which will be held at the Officers
Club on the evening of 9 October.
This Symposium is in keeping with our aims of emphasizing
the over-all in-house capabilities of OAR and AFSC and of
demonstrating the effectiveness o*_ the Air Force laboratories.
It is designed to promote the initiative and demonstrate the
capabilities of Air Force scientists and engineers to accomplish
research and development efforts of superior quality. The
attached tentative program indicates the nature and scope of
this yearts Symposium.
