Dies Following
Collision Here

Fairfax County's 1963 fatal
traffic toll continued its rapid
climb Saturday night with
death of a 33-year-old Minne-
sota man whose car was
struck head-on by a Ft. Bel-
voir soldier's vehicle on Richmond
Highway at Gr veton.
Listed as Fai~fax County's 10th
fatality of the year, compared to
three at this time last year, was
William Lyle Schuehle whom
Fairfax County police identified
as a Central Intelligence Agency
employe and a resident of 1144
8th Ave., S.W., Fairbault, Minn.
The striking vehicle, police said,
was operated by Sp. 5 Harold F.
Roark, a native of Coldbrook,
N. Y., currently stationed .with the
87th Engineer Battalion, Ft. Bel-
voir.
Accident investigators said
Roark, driving a 1961 model car
lost control of his vehicle while
southbound, running off the shoul-
der of the road, up an embank-
ment and careened into a skid
back on to the highway where he
smashed head-on into the victim's
1959 Volkswagen.
Scihuehle was dead on arrival
at Alexandria Hospital while Roark
was later admitted to DeWitt Army
Hospital, Ft. Belvoir with cuts and
bruises and today was listed ih
satisfactory condition.
County police said no charges
