munieations Unit. It consists of reference ma-
terial an communications of the Soviet High

The second dacur~ent is a g?n,eral monthly
report of Radio Intelligence Operations for June
1g~+5 , by the PTakaho j o De tachrri,ent o f the Pdai zuru
Naval Co~m~unications Unit.
The three .remaining documents consist of
Soviet radio messages intercepted by the Special
Duty Section of the Japanese General Staff dur-

This communications circuit links the Peonl.e~s Com~his--
s~ri~,t of the Navy and the .Naval force Co..~~!and Servic4s
stationed in East Asia, and is the Higri~Comsnand.communi-
ca.tions system which connects P~ioscow with Sovetskaya
G~avan, Khabarovsk and Vladivostok. The ~,Ja.panese) Army
began intercepting messages on this circuit three years
ago.

During the winter special duty vessels attached to
the subrarine force appeared frequently (chiefly in Subron
~+ Co::lmand circuits) but since April it seems that they
returned to the S.pecial~Duty Units and have not appeared
in the Submarine Force circuit. k

This call appeared_ for the first ti:~e in the early
part of 1'?'lay in the -Submarine Force Ulysses .(IOp22) Cozu?~and
circuit as an actual ship Qr station. T~^7hen it entered the
.'Cruiser-Destroyer circuit it, was independently in touch
with Vladivostok Hq and the Garrison Unit,Hq. However;
on Nia~r lg this unit and five submarines received a joint
- call anc~: a nessage from the Ulysses (10422) bG.se.
