THIS IS UNEVALUATED INFORMATION
Helsinki broadcast in the Finnish Home Service on 4 March 1950 at 1030 GMT
the following text:
"Announcement - It is announced for the benefit of listeners
to the Lahti and Kuopio Radio Stations that the work on
changing the wave length of the Lahti Broadcasting Station
will begin on Monday morning, March 6. During the progress
of this work the Kuopio Station will broadcast the Lahti
program on the present Lahti wave length, that is,1875 metre..
As the Kuopio Station transmitter power is weaker than that
of Lahti reception will be weaker at longer distances from
the Kuopio Stations. The new Lahti wave length, 1181 metres.
will come into force on March 15 from early morning."
