On Friday.13 May.I showed Rob Simmons, staff director of the-SSCI, the letter from Sen. 'Goldwater asking for 'republication' of the -annual economic report.. I.also showed Rob the old Communist Aid Activities in Non- Communist Less Developed Countries, and its new manifestation, Soviet and East European Aid to-the Third World, 1981. Rob was irked that the letter had'come from Goldwater's personal office staff, with no coordination with the SSCI, and promised to look, into .the matter. He will get back to us in the near future, ,..and give us his best. understanding of just what it is the Senator wants. u ings .
