SUBJECT : PLOT Tape I14TCHK Error Messages

The 1100/80 EXEC System executes a label check whenever an attempt is made to
either read or write a 7-track plot tape. The unique format of the CAL-(DIP plot-
ter commands precludes the writing of a tape label by the applications program.
Even though a tape label is not required, the tape label check is performed.
The following is an example of the console messages and responses required
whenever a new or fleshly degaussed tape is used:

After a plot tape has been used, and if it has not been degaussed, the.
DATCHK and LABELED tape messages will sometimes not appear.
Under current operating conditions, the data and label checks are acceptable.
The data written to the plot tapes is not in any way impaired. This situation will
exist until further notice.
