The IDFPURGE program will be run on the UNIVAC 1100/84 on a weekly basis,
following the normal daily processing and after the evening summary cable. It
is initiated automatically as a part of the weekly cleanup.
The purpose of the program is to delete non-essential readout data from the
IDF. If a target has no periodic reporting requirement, readouts identified as
NACs (No Apparent Change), NRCs (No Reportable Change), and CNAs (Coverage Not
Available) will be deleted if they are over six months old. If there is a
requirement on the target, the reporting requirement must be satisfied before
the six-month criteria can be applied.
Since IDFPURGE is not time-critical, a utility mechanism has been built in
to allow the operator to stop the program during execution, if necessary, and
restart the processing at a later time. (See page 5.)

Interrupt/Reentry: IDFPURGE can be interrupted through operator intervention by
