"Donald Duart Maclean; Guy Francis DeMoncy Burgess, .espionage - R, '` dated March 6, 2956, concerning a cable sent by Donald Maclean ~n Moscow to his brother, Alan, in London, requesting the address c~,f Donald's mother-in-law, Mrs. Melinda Dunbar. You were in~flrmed that Mrs. Dunbar had advised our New York Office that she ~~Ianr~d to send her address by cable on February 2", 1956, to her c~augh7:er, Melinda Maclean, with the statement that she was longing to hear from her. Mrs. Dunbar has now advised our New Pork Office that since she received no reply to her original cable, she re~entl.u sent another one. She has now received the following cable frou. .Melinda Maclean: rr$oth telegrams received. Sending letter today. A11 happy and well. Longing for news of you. Write .Poste Restante, Central Telegraph Office, Moscow. Love to a1I from all of us. " Mrs, Dunbar advised she planned to write a letter on .April 4, 1956, suggesting to Melinda that 1~elinda and the ~C~aclean children meet her (Mrs. Dunbar this summer someplace in .E'urope, possibly Southern France or the Island of 1~fa jorca. Mrs. .I?~nbar further advised she had heard in a "roundabout way" that you had FBI review(s) completed.
