letween 20. and 23 April 1954, source determined that about 8(4000 DM east _had been

allotted for the construction of new buildings and reconditioning work at the camp
ilertheast of Jamlitz at Lieberose troop training grounds. Observed were the construction
of a new kitchen building, and reconditioning work on the bathing installation,
transformer Station, waterworks, club, PK and kitchen buildings. Cu 23 April, the camp
northeast of Jamlitz quartered about 400 engineer troops under the command of Senior
Lieutenant Asiskin (fnu). The troops engaged in reconditioning work on the quarters.
It was expected the camp would be occupied in late April or at the beginning of May. 1
On 21 April, 3 JS-3 tanks andmotor vehicles' 'entered the camp."6

? On 17 April, source determined that the southern garage of the Eichhorn Kaserne (4446)
in Frankfurt/Oder, which had been converted into a warehouse was to be occupied by a
Soviet unit from Wuensdorf.

. On 17 April, source determined thet construction work by craftsmen at the barracks
installation north of Drachhausen was to be completed by 15 May.
. After 20 April, army clothing depot No I (4244) in Bernau was again occupied to
capacitye Activity there tended to indicate that the trained perdonnel was to undergo
an inspection. A lieutenant colonel and a major tested the troops in infantry service,_
aiming and chemical warfare.
. On 22 April, Koch officer Major Menkevich (ftu) and one Rauenheimer (fnul the chief
of
the special construction office, inspected the work at the installation.,'
