RD REFERENCES This is UNEVALUATED Information three or four submarines and three MTBs were about eight nautical in Danzig Bay miles southeast of the southern tip of Lela Peninsula, (see photo no. 1). Some, possibly two large and four small,, units were conducting a gunnery exercise on 3 May about six nautical miles west-southwest of the inlet to Balti sk. As a target they were using a sled towed by a tu (Photo no. 2 is of a submarine chaser which was five nautical miles north of Baltiysk on 3 Mav The Jinclu.des items of interest At point 1 a a short distance up the river was available. There was apier which there were a number of vessels-MTBs or the like, sketch map view for there at this was a harbor from which the Poles were barred. At point 2 there was a wreck of an old warship, possibly from World War II. Along the coast from the mouth of the Wisla (Vistula) River to Baltiysk, about 2000 yards inland, there were several wooddn towers, Thueach'case the tower was rectargular and constructed of heavy timbers, but around the tower was a sort of sca$.bld-like structure which made the whole. g shaped like a Christmas tree, (see inset on sketch map), wires, the height of the towers to be about 20 meters. No people, antennas, or the like were observed in the vicinity of the towers. At point 3 there was the wreck of a small steamer. At point 4 there'was a tall br"ick red. tower,.. somewhat like a lighthouse without a light.
