A wolfram smelting plant is located in Pechtels ruen (N51/K33) along the highway betv:een Lengenfeld/Vogtland and Z' rickau/Saxorry, near Lengenfeld. It was built during the war and has been considerably enlarged by the Russians under whose management the plant is working at the present timed The works were formerly smelting wolfram ore, but are handling now exclusively uranium ore. The plant employs approximately 1500 men. 2. A Soviet dismantling unit appeared at the plant on 25 June to make prepa- rations for the dismantling of the entire works. It is allegedly planned to set up the plant on the rig ,ht bank of the Elbe on German territory and to open it up again. The dismantling operations will take approximately six weeks, depending upon the availability of workers.
