REPORT NO.
1. The Ethiopian D.1inistry of Poste, Telegraphs, and Telephones has
nearly completed negotiation of an official agreement with the
Lebanese Government and Radio Orientals for the opening of a now
radio circuit between Beirut and Addle Ababae Testing has been
completed,, and reception has been satisfactory.
2. All present radio traffic to Europe and Asia from Addis Ababa is
relayed through Djiboutie Under the new errang t an traffic
for Europe and Asia, excepting that to France and the French colonies,
will be handled on the direct Beirut-Addis Ababa circuit. French
tra fim will continue to go through Djibouti.
3. According to source, 'the new circuit in being opened in order
to reduce delays in transmission, reduce reception difficulties
and afford the Lthtopian Government Toro favorable financial term s
than the present ones.
