The officials all express fear of the future in respect to american policy toward China and possible non recognition of the Communist. Government when it is formed. 2. They express the hope that the A-vorthwest provinces will be conquered soon in order to provide a further link with Ru3sia for handling import cargoes. 3. ill China will be conquered before the end of the year. Taiwan will easily be taken by junk invasion*, 'which will be a duplicate of the Yangtze opera- tion. Over 10,000 Communists have already infiltrated the island. 4. An uprising of the people on Taiwan will facilitate the takeover., providing the United States does not assist the i,ia..ionalists with planes and ships. Taiwan Communists are said to have representatives in i'ciping who are planning the future government of Taiwan**. 5 The invasion of Taiwan will be timed with the invasion of South Korea from North Korea. This will divide iunerican interest, and it is expected that more attention will be paid by the US to preserving Korean unity;-:: . ,.
