OF ENCLS. (LISTED BELOW) 25X1A 25X1X DATE OF INFO. Late 1949 SUPPLEMENT TO REPORT 1. The 466 Autonomous Military Marine Brigade, with headquarters at Kumbur on the Bey of Kotor? is subordinate to the Split Naval Command. Its structure is as follows: 3 Marine infantry battalions 1 artillery unit, comprising 3 batteries and 1 anti-aircraft battery 1 chemical warfare platoon 1 82 mm. mortar unit 1 120 MIL mortar unit 1 communications company 2. The strength of the brigade is 1,600 men. Each battalion, numbering approximately 120 mens is divided into three companies and one separate platoon. The artillery command, when at full strength, has 600 men. A battery numbers approximately 100 men and a mortar unit 60 men. The enlisted men of the battalions are armed with German Mauser rifles, and each company has four ftSchwartzlose" or Czech Zbrojevka machine guns, The non-commissioned officers are equipped with Soviet automatic weapons and the officers with pistols of various types. Each battery is equipped with four German 75 mm. gune, and the anti-aircraft battery baa four German 35 mm. guns. The 82 MM, mortar unit has four mortars; the 120 mm.unit, although officially designated as such, has not yet receiVed its mortars. All batteries, as well as the mortar units, are under the authority of the artillery commander, who is in turn included within the organizational structure of the brigade. The brigade is equipped with seven German motor boats, which travel at a speed of 20 knots per hoer, and are armed with two double-barrelled machine guns and one light 25 mm. cannon. when maneuvers were last held the brigade was supplied with an Italian motor-ships which accommodated between 600 and 700 men. Trucks are used to transport food and other organic supplies. The brigade comprises the following personnel and sections: a.
