All large shoo factories have been converted to tho manufacture of military boots. :3. Owners who have had their small workshops talon from them by the state have been hired for work on military projects at attractive payee 4. The shortage of food is generally ascribed to diversion of food supplies to the Rumanian armed services. Stockpiling of food for the army is no longer a secret in Rumanian 5. The queues of persons waiting to purchase kerosene are presently the longest in Rumania Persons desiring to purchase kerosene queue up during the night in order to make purchases the following day, The Rumanian authorities are recruiting persons for "voluntary" labor from these queues for kerosene,, since expressions of hostility and opposition to the regime are frequently heard in these lines. 6. At the present time, persons are queuing; up for gasoline for their automobiles. The lines of automobiles, trucks, taxis,, and motorcycles waiting for gasoline sometines reach a length of 200 to 300 meters..
