1. Soviet fishing vessels within one and the same type do not always have the same
tonnage, especially the type $RT of the numbered series 100 in the Baltic as
opposed to the SRT type in the Arctic Ocean. However, the differing types are
estimated to approximate the following descriptions:

10. The Soviet fishing fleet before the war, even in 1939, was old and obsolete.
It is natural, therefore, that the Soviet Union;, along with other nations, is
building up the fishing fleet with modern and efficient vessels.

11. At the same time the Soviet fishing fleet is being constructed in such a manner
that it can be utilized fully in an eventual conflict. Several times during
the last war the Soviets used fishing vessels to land troops both in the Baltic
and the Black Sea area.
12. A large fishing fleet also permits the Soviets to obtain up-to-date and detailed
information on coastal and port areas of other nations.
