The ysoks Myto Airfield lies about three '.kilometers southeast of Yysoke Myto
along the highway between Vysoke Myto and Litomysl.
2. The field is about 1,000 meters across and 1, 500 meters long. It stretches'
about one k1,1o*eter north of Hrusova, a town which has a station on the
Yysoke Myto-Litomysl single-track railroad line. This railroad line runs
approximately parallel to the western side of the airfield and is from 700
to 1,000 meters away from it.
3. The railroad , station nearest to the airfield is the minor stop at Dzbanov,
about the field one kilometer west of the field on the road to Dsbanov. On the east
reaehaH ,a s far as the Louona River, which flows north there
through a wet, waste area.
4. To the north of the sirfield-is located the training area for the military
units s t a t i o p 1 0 j n t i soke, I rto;, this area is partly fors sted, and it ex-
tends to the edge of the city.
5. At the t:*.,of obseirvAtion, the field was not fenced in and not particularly
carefully guarded. Only the buildings shown on the annexed sketch were on
the field,, and only the ammunition dump was guarded by a sentry.
6. The field.had,no artificial runway but was situated on a dry and solid open
area. There. was no military personnel stationed at the field. During the
summer, the field wail used for glider training. There were four gliders and.
one motor-driven, atrcraft which were kept in the building which is No. 6
on the annexed sketch.

7. From 20 to 30 youths were brought from Vysoke Myto for glider training from
time to time, chiefly on Saturdays and Sundays.
8. At the time of observation, extensive construction work was being dons on
the airfield. It was rumored among the local inhabitants that a concrete runway
and hangars may possibly be built there, to be used by a fighter s uadron
which would be stationed there when the work had been completed. The accuracy
of this rumor coated not be checked.
