1. In Soviet medical schools in Moscow, all students, male and female; are
required to take the reserve office training. In the other schools,
only male students have to attend. permission was given
officially for foreign students to attend the classes, although before
this.time, students apparently could attend at the discretion of the
instructor. Instructors for the courses are various infantry officers,
some- with the rank of,colonel.. The course in each school,?a.s headed by
a general in the medical corps. Few, students took the courses s s-er.io_usly.
2. The-following is a schedule of military courses given under the reserve
officers' training program in medical schools in Moscow. The schedule
may vary slightly from year to year.
a. First Year: No officers' training courses are given.
b. Second year: Military courtesy, weapons training with 1944 and
earlier models of carbines, command training. This.consists of
one semester of two hours per week of lecture and three hours per
week of seminar. During the seminars battle problems are simulated
on paper and on sand tables.
c. Third Year: No military training courses.

d. Fourth Year: Strategy and tactics, map reading, battle problems.
This.consists of one semester of two hours per week.of lecture and 25X1
14 days of three-hour. seminars. -
e. Fifth Year: Medical training related to wartime situations.
0 this follows the- same schedule-as that in the fourth year.
Thirty days of maneuvers follow the fifth year.
