3. The combine territory, of about one s-.. km., was sur~~ALbt L 2 m. high

from the brickwall was put up a barbed wire fance. Between the fence and the
wall at night 24 shepherd dogs watched this zone, tied t- the wire line by a

5. The weaving shop was formerly equipped with German-built looms but in 1958
they were rer'iced by looms manufactured at KMIKOV works. In this shop about
40 machines were sarviced by 1-2 workers.

1. Employees entrance and pass control point (propusknaya budka). The dotted line
between A and 2 indicates the rail which divides the whole entrance into two
parts (walks), one marked "N" for the men, and another marked "VP for female
workers. Letters "A" and "B" indicated the positions of guards checkinS the
passes.
The time board system by which the badges were hung on the
board by entering the plant and were taken off when leaving
after work was discontinued at this Combine a few years ago.
MENNEN each employee possesses a pass, 5 x 10 ca.
(large dimension - left to right), made out of cardboard and
wrapped in red or dark-blue calico fabric. This pass consists
of a folding cover only, on the inside of which are printed
