A brief two-Dae report on observations at Odessa
The report includes information on
port controls, dredging operations, the petroleum docks, and the
sighting of four unidentified Soviet minesweepers.

this was the first time in four yenrs that no naval vessels
'were observed in Odessa Harbor. Part of the harbor was frozen over
the naval vessels had possibly been ordered out to prevent
their being closed in.
7. The dredging operations observed during the previous trip in the channel to
the petroleum docks, were still in progress. The work was done by one
dredger on a 24-hour basis.
8. Installation of an additional 20-inch oil pipeline on each of the four docks
of the Petroleum Harbor has been completed. The new pipeline will be put
into operation as soon as an unfinished one-meter long link, located under the
walkway of the Petroleum Pier, is completed.
9. The large silo which has been under construction
which was almost completed was still not operating.

NOTE FOREGOING EXPLANATION.
3. An additional 20-inch pipeline outlet to each of the four petroleum docks was

dock will be increased to 500 tons of crude oil per hour.
