The motor for the crane was housed in a small shack which was located two meters from the base of the crane, a headquarters unit for coastal observation 25X1 stations was maintained in PUCK. The Unit designation was "OBSERVATION AND COMMUNICATION SECTOR NO. 1, PUCK". This unit was billeted in a large building on the town's outskirts 1, Enclosure 17. The house is quite large and has four floors. The detachment consists of five officers and approximately 50 men.. The Commanding Officer was, as of December 1952, a .tad L sn, r'l and his assistant was a Captain, The remaining two officers had the rank of Warrant ('fficer Thin unit Mel st roidin 7Cation and messing facilities in the building. the unit had supervision over the coastal 25X1 watch stations in the PUCK area. The number of stations was unknown They were located as follows:. a. ROZEWIE: This station was located approximately 50 m, from the ligh TE-ouse. It consisted of a watch tower and living quarters for approximately 10 men. Radio communication was available in PUCK a signal. mast with various pennants cou a seen on e tower. The lighthouse was painted white with horizontal bands of red. The watch tower was of white brick construction. For .the measurements, see Enclosure 2, b. BIALA GORA (WITTENBURG): The second tower is located two 'kilometers nor or the small village of BIALA GORA. The coordinates are 890 - 796 on reference (a). The same- conditions pertain to this installation as above, however, there is no lighthouse there. Comment: 1. Chain of command as employed in the satellite 25X1 navies evidently is not rigidly prescribed by an organized rank scale. The Commanding Officer of the CP in PUCK.,is junior in rank to his executive officer. 2." In view of the terrain conditions existing at PUCK it is considered highly improbable that the Polish Naval Air Arm will initiate actions to re-establish it as an operational naval airfield.
