Background: This is in response to receipt of Secretary Hodel's letter on 10 September inviting the Agency to appoint members to the Board on Geographic Names for the two-year period beginning 1 October 1985. The terms of office of the current Board members expire on 30 September 1985. The Central Intelligence Agency has been represented by have rendered valuable service to the Board's mission of standardizing names for use in official United States documents.
